Current Priorities

The DNEA is tasked with priority areas to help focus its work.

These areas are identified from recommendations in the Blueprint and reassessed for progress each year.

 

2019-2020 priorities

Priority 1

All medical professionals professionals charged with diagnosing autism will use empirically-supported evaluation protocols.

Priority 2

All LEAs wil have the skills and ability to provide high quality and equitable services and supports for individuals with ASD.

Priority 3

All students with ASD who are eligible for special education will be classified for the provision of appropriate educational services and support including and beyond the academic assessment areas.

Priority 4

All individuals with ASD will receive appropriate mental health services and crisis support services when they need them and where they need them.
