    Supporting Your Child During Fall Festivities

    The Delaware Network for Excellence in Autism (DNEA), housed at UD’s Center for Disabilities Studies, offers training and technical assistance that benefits individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals who serve them. We are pleased to announce our statewide virtual training schedule designed to introduce participants to the core characteristics of autism and practices that provide support in a variety of settings.

    While fall festivities can be fun and exciting, it can also be difficult for youth with autism, and other developmental or intellectual disabilities. This workshop, presented to you by the DNEA, will discuss events and festivities specific to the fall season and focus on strategies that can help prepare for all the season offers. We also present strategies that can assist in preparing for special or new events while reducing stress and challenging behaviors.

    Participants will be emailed log-in information and training details approximately 48 hours before the training date. Please check the email you used to register and/or your JUNK mail if you do not find the confirmation in your inbox. Participants will be emailed a certificate of attendance approximately two weeks post training.

    Seating is reserved for Delaware residents and Delaware professionals. The DNEA reserves the right to cancel training if the minimum threshold for attendance is not reached.

    Supporting Family-led Development Monitoring. Learn the Signs. Act Early: Provider Training


    October 11, 2023

    New legislation (HB202) will require that all childcare centers engage in developmental screening using the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ). The LTSAE training, Supporting Family-Led Developmental Monitoring, will help prepare you for this important change that is coming to Delaware.

    This training will:

    • introduce participants to the importance of developmental monitoring;
    • provide an overview of the state’s developmental screener – the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ);
    • explain the state’s process for referring children to early intervention services; and
    • describe the types of early intervention services available to different ages of children. 

    Please note:  There are two ways to attend the Learn the Signs. Act Early. provider training, Supporting Family-Led Developmental Monitoring: DIEEC/STARS Continuing Education Credits or Eventbrite.  Please navigate to the “Registration” link below for more information.

    The Delaware Network for Excellence in Autism (DNEA), housed at UD’s Center for Disabilities Studies, offers training and technical assistance that benefits individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals who serve them. We are pleased to announce our statewide virtual training schedule designed to introduce participants to the core characteristics of autism and practices that provide support in a variety of settings.

    Introduction to Autism will provide a basic overview of autism. This training will include content about disability-friendly language, the history of autism, core characteristics of autism, and general tips and considerations when supporting people with autism.

    27th Annual Delaware Healthcare Forum


    October 24, 2023

    The 27th Annual Delaware Healthcare Forum, to be held on October 24th, is presented by the Delaware Healthcare Association, in partnership with CNT Infotech/Resourcium Business Services, and Delaware Health & Social Services, and Joint Providership with the Healthcare Leadership Network of The Delaware Valley, and Bayhealth. The Forum brings together all Delaware's hospitals and health systems for continuing education and networking opportunities. 

    The DNEA is sponsoring the 27th Annual Delaware Healthcare Forum at Delaware Technical Community College, Terry Campus, Conference Center.

    Understanding Autism and Strategies for Child Care Providers

    The Delaware Network for Excellence in Autism (DNEA), housed at UD’s Center for Disabilities Studies, offers training and technical assistance that benefits individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals who serve them. We are pleased to announce our statewide virtual training schedule designed to introduce participants to the core characteristics of autism and practices that provide support in a variety of settings.

    This training was developed by the Delaware Network for Excellence in Autism for early childhood care providers.  The training is designed to develop an understanding of autism and how it impacts children differently. In addition, the training provides strategies to support young children with autism in a childcare setting.

    Please note:  There are two ways to attend the Understanding Autism and Strategies for Child Care Providers; please select one option:

    1) Register through DIEEC to obtain Continuing Education Credits

    If you would like to receive STARS continuing education credits through DIEEC, please go to the DIEEC training calendar and search “Understanding Autism and Strategies for Child Care Providers”

    OR

    2) Register through Eventbrite to obtain a DNEA certificate of attendance.  

    If you do not have an account with DIEEC or do not wish to receive continuing education credits, you may register through our Eventbrite page.
