The Interagency Committee on Autism (ICA) meets quarterly at locations throughout the state. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and time for public comment is always reserved at the end of each meeting. Participants can attend in person or via virtually. This training is designed to teach how the core characteristics of autism impact social success, explaining typical social development and how it differs children with autism. It also covers how to implement the evidence-based practices of video modeling, social narratives and peer-mediated instruction and intervention.
Registration will begin at 8:30am, with the training starting promptly at 9 am. Participants will be issued certificates of attendance upon completion of the training.
Training Prerequisite: participants should have an understanding of Autism and a working knowledge of visual supports, prompting and reinforcement OR have attended a DNEA training on Understanding Autism and Classroom Strategies
