Autism and Epilepsy: Seizure Recognition and First Aid Certification

11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Autism and Epilepsy: Seizure Recognition and First Aid Certification

The Delaware Network for Excellence in Autism (DNEA), housed at the University of Delaware Center for Disabilities Studies, offers training and technical assistance that benefits individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals who serve them.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware (EFDE) is a private, non-profit service organization providing public education and supportive services to individuals and families affected by epilepsy/seizure disorders. The EFDE works to deliver nationally recognized educational programs and referral services to residents in all three counties throughout Delaware.

Together, these two organizations are offering training in Autism and Epilepsy: Seizure Recognition and First Aid Certification. This course will review the core characteristics of autism and the co-occurrence of autism and epilepsy. Participants who successfully complete the post-knowledge assessment in the Epilepsy Foundation Learning Portal will receive a two-year certification in Seizure Recognition and First Aid.

After registration, participants will be emailed:

  • a Zoom link; and
  • a link to the Epilepsy Foundation Learning Portal to take the pretest (required if applying for certification).

Please note: There are two ways to attend this training; please select one option:

1) Register through DIEEC to obtain Continuing Education Credits

If you would like to receive STARS continuing education credits through DIEEC, please go to the DIEEC training calendar and search “Autism and Epilepsy: Seizure Recognition and First Aid Certification”

OR

2) Register through Eventbrite to obtain a DNEA certificate of attendance.
