The Birds and the Bees: Learning from the Research on Autism and Human Sexuality

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
The Birds and the Bees: Learning from the Research on Autism and Human Sexuality

When it comes to research on autism and human sexuality, there are three main areas: (1) trying to understand and describe what sexual expression looks like, (2) looking at sexual abuse risk and resilience, and (3) identifying how best to teach sex education. This talk will overview the latest research in these areas and cover topics such as gender identity, sexual abuse protective factors, and sex education resources.

Join Dr. Sarah Curtiss, Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Delaware, to hear what the research tells us about autism and sexual expression, sexual abuse risk and resilience, and sex education.
