Autism and IDD Training for First Responders

Learn about autism and other developmental disabilities from a law enforcement and family perspective.

This training presented by Retired Lieutenant Chuck Sawchenko, focuses on de-escalation strategies and is conducted through lectures, interactive learning, and video-based scenarios for law enforcement and first responders.

Led by the University of Delaware Center for Disabilities Studies, the DNEA provides training, technical assistance, and information dissemination that benefits individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals who serve them.

Individual departments and agencies can request training during their training academies and scheduled in-services. Please reach out to us with your request by clicking the link: https://www.delawareautismnetwork.org/first-responders/first-responder-training-request/
