My Voice, My Health: Using Augmentative and Alternative Communication for Self-Advocacy in Medical

 Join for a workshop on supporting individuals with communication disabilities as they navigate transitioning to adult healthcare and participating in medical appointments. 

This session will focus on strategies for communicating in medical settings, using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) for talking about medical needs and advocating to medical providers who may be unfamiliar with communication supports. Participants will leave the session with practical resources and strategies to make full participation in healthcare more accessible to all communicators.
