April 22, 2020(2 events) 9:00 am: Introduction to the Principles of Applied Behavior Analysis for Supporting the Instruction of Students with Autism – PLEASE NOTE: Out of an abundance of caution and care for our community, this training is now being offered virtually. Attendees will receive a Zoom link and call-in information two days prior to the training date. Please regularly check the email you registered with for updates. This training is designed to provide foundational knowledge in the principals of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and how they are incorporated into evidence-based practices for autism. Participants will receive a review of the core characteristics and the learning needs of students identifies as having autism. Time will be spent understanding ABA, task analysis, reinforcement, and the learning cycle in preparation for more advanced trainings, including an Introduction to Evidence-based Instructional Strategies for Autism: Least-to-Most Prompting, Most-to-Least Prompting, Graduated Guidance, and Simultaneous Prompting. Participants will be introduced to the basics of instructional prompting and trained in four specific evidence-based practices for supporting the learning of individuals with autism: least-to-most prompting, most-to-least prompting, graduated guidance, and simultaneous prompting. Data collection procedures for these strategies will be introduced. Prerequisite: Introduction to the Principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for Supporting the Instruction of Students with Autism or advanced knowledge in the application of the principles of ABA.
