Attendees will receive a Zoom link and call-in information two days prior to the training date. Please regularly check the email you registered with for updates. This training is designed to provide foundational knowledge in the principals of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and how they are incorporated into evidence-based practices for autism. Participants will receive a review of the core characteristics and the learning needs of students identifies as having autism. Time will be spent understanding ABA, task analysis, reinforcement, and the learning cycle in preparation for more advanced trainings, including an Introduction to Evidence-based Instructional Strategies for Autism: Least-to-Most Prompting, Most-to-Least Prompting, Graduated Guidance, and Simultaneous Prompting. This training will provide an overview of the importance of the evidence-based practice of visual supports for students with autism. Participants will learn the process for implementing visual schedules, cues, and boundaries and timers within an educational setting. Click here to register. This training is designed to teach how the core characteristics of autism impact social functioning, explaining typical social development and how it differs in children and adolescents with autism. It also covers how to implement evidence-based practices, including video modeling, social narratives and other forms of social skills instruction, that can help teach skills students with autism need to be successful.
