July 31, 2023(1 event) 10:00 am: Introduction To Evidence Based Practices For Supporting Individuals With Autism – The Delaware Network for Excellence in Autism (DNEA), housed at UD’s Center for Disabilities Studies, offers training and technical assistance that benefits individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals who serve them. We are pleased to announce our statewide virtual training schedule designed to introduce participants to the core characteristics of autism and practices that provide support in a variety of settings. Introduction to Evidence-Based Practices for Individuals with Autism will provide an overview of the evidence-based practices that are most effective when supporting individuals with autism of all ages. This training will review the core characteristics of autism and introduce three evidence-based practices: visual supports, prompting, and reinforcement. Participants will be emailed log-in information and training details approximately 48 hours before the training date. Please check the email you used to register and/or your JUNK mail if you do not find the confirmation in your inbox. Participants will be emailed a certificate of attendance approximately two weeks post training. Seating is reserved for Delaware residents and Delaware professionals. The DNEA reserves the right to cancel training if the minimum threshold for attendance is not reached. Please email Katie Booz at boozkp@udel.edu for any accommodation requests. Please submit any accommodation requests at least 72 hours in advance in order to ensure accommodations can be coordinated and provided. |

Participants will learn about the four different types of visual supports - schedules, cues, boundaries, and timers - and evidence-based practices for introducing these supports to individuals with autism. August 8, 2023(1 event) 1:00 pm: Understanding Autism and Strategies for Child Care Providers – The Delaware Network for Excellence in Autism (DNEA), housed at UD’s Center for Disabilities Studies, offers training and technical assistance that benefits individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals who serve them. We are pleased to announce our statewide virtual training schedule designed to introduce participants to the core characteristics of autism and practices that provide support in a variety of settings. This training was developed by the Delaware Network for Excellence in Autism for early childhood care providers. The training is designed to develop an understanding of autism and how it impacts children differently. In addition, the training provides strategies to support young children with autism in a childcare setting. Please note: There are two ways to attend the Understanding Autism and Strategies for Child Care Providers; please select one option: 1) Register through DIEEC to obtain Continuing Education Credits If you would like to receive STARS continuing education credits through DIEEC, please go to the DIEEC training calendar and search “Understanding Autism and Strategies for Child Care Providers” OR 2) Register through Eventbrite to obtain a DNEA certificate of attendance. If you do not have an account with DIEEC or do not wish to receive continuing education credits, you may register through our Eventbrite page. We are pleased to announce our statewide virtual training schedule designed to introduce participants to the core characteristics of autism and practices that provide support in a variety of settings. DNEA Intermediate and Advanced Training Content is designed for individuals who have attended Introduction to Autism and Introduction to Evidence-Based Practices or have a similar foundational knowledge. These trainings are often discipline-specific and will address more advanced evidence-based practices and supports. Autism and Mental Health will provide participants an introductory understanding of autism and commonly occurring mental health diagnoses. Participants will review the core characteristics of autism, learn about prevalence and presentation,and be introduced to evidence-based resources that can be used to support individuals with autism who have mental health needs. Participants will be emailed log-in information and training details approximately 48 hours before the training date. Please check the email you used to register and/or your JUNK mail if you do not find the confirmation in your inbox. Participants will be emailed a certificate of attendance approximately two weeks post training. This course, Autism and Mental Health, Approval #02302023-1, provided by the DNEA is approved for continuing education by the NASW-DE Continuing Education Approval Collaborative. CE Approval Collaborative Approval Period: Thursday, March 30, 2023 through January 31, 2024.
